The Ensemble: Jillia Pessenda

Jillia Pessenda relocated to Seattle from Minneapolis in the fall of 2008. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota with Acting and Directing concentrations. After training at the Performing Arts School at Middlesex University (London, U.K.), Jillia returned to Minneapolis where she acted and directed with numerous theatre companies and ensemble-based collectives including Bedlam Theatre, The Red Eye, The Playwright’s Center, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Minnesota Showboat, Actor’s Theatre of Minnesota, Body Cartography, Flaneur Productions and Margolis-Brown among others. Her original performance piece, Made In China, was presented at Bedlam Theatre in Minneapolis and most recently, Force Feed, a new work-in-progress, was performed at the Henry Art Gallery in Seattle.

Jillia is also a Registered Yoga Teacher and teaching artist. After Assistant Directing The Mistakes Madeline Made last season, Jillia’s thrilled to join the ensemble as an associate member.
