Mary Bliss (yes, that’s her entire first name) is a Co-Artistic Director and Board Member at Washington Ensemble Theatre. You might have seen her as “Mel” in God’s Ear, “Beth” in The Mistakes Madeline Made and as “Snitchbot” in the ensemble-created world premiere of RoboPop!. Mary Bliss has also served as the Development Director and Gala Chair since joining the company in 2008. This year, she is excited to expand the fundraising department and looks forward to continuing her work as an actress and artistic director for the Ensemble. She is also a private acting coach and works as a benefit auction consultant in the Seattle area. You can hear her voice on the radio representing Sono Bello and Super Supplements and can see her on the web as a spokesperson for AT&T, among her many other commercials, industrials and voiceovers.
Mary Bliss grew up in Atlanta and spent four years in Chicago before making her way to the West Coast. In Chicago, she served as the Executive Director of Keyhole Theatre Company and was the Head of the Drama Department at Josephinum Academy. She was also an actress, costume designer and worked in casting for several film and theatre companies in Chicago. Mary Bliss graduated from Winthrop University with a BA in Theatre Arts and received her MFA from the University of Washington’s Professional Actor Training Program. In addition to her work in Seattle, she has acted on stages in Idaho, Ohio, South Carolina, Boston, New York, Chicago and Atlanta.
