A festive and funny exploration of the faces and places that deck the Hill during the holidays, WONDERFUL LIFE is an ensemble generated play built from interviews with Capitol Hill residents about the moments, memories, and madness that decorate the holiday season.
AMY REBECCA BOYCE (director) has directed a number of plays all over the country including Christina by Marina Schron and Apartment Building of the Blind by Bret Fetzer (Soho Rep, NY), Heights by Amy Fox (reading, Ensemble Studio Theatre, NY), Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years by Emily Mann (The Public Theatre of Kentucky) and Romeo And Juliet (Eve Productions, Seattle). Her play Dead Reckoning was produced as part of Soho Rep’s Summer Camp Festival of New Plays and her most recent work, a collaboratively created piece for the Flying Carpet Theatre, The Mystery of Chung Ling Soo, was seen this summer at Atlanta’s Seven Stages and at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland. A reading of her play Relevant, Adult, Uncensored about the life of Hallie Flanagan will be seen as a part of a May Conference on the WPA Arts Projects at the University of Washington. Ms. Boyce is currently the Drama Director at Holy Names Academy. She received her B.A. in Drama from Vassar College and her M.F.A. in Directing from the University of Washington.
